Ancient Silk Route Tour

Chitral-ValleyThe Karakoram Highway, often referred to as the eighth wonder of the world, spans a staggering 1200 kilometers, traversing rugged terrain and crossing into China’s Xinjiang province. This incredible feat stands as a testament to the hard work and skill of approximately 15,000 Pakistani and Chinese workers who dedicated nearly two decades to conquer the formidable challenges posed by the harsh landscape. The highway serves as a monument to their determination and sacrifices, with some even losing their lives in the process. The reconstruction of this historical Silk Road, once traveled by the likes of Marco Polo, Fa Hien, and Huen, reconnects us to the rich history of trade and cultural exchange.

The Karakoram Highway reaches its pinnacle at the Khunjerab Pass, situated at an astonishing height of 4,770 meters, making it the highest metalled road in the world. This marvel of engineering and human perseverance is a gateway to unparalleled natural beauty and a testament to the unyielding spirit of mankind.
