Beginning in Bagrot Valley, just 15 km from Gilgit, the trail transforms from barren landscapes to fertile villages. Trekkers are rewarded with breathtaking views of Rakaposhi (7788 m), Diran (7266 m), and the twin peaks of Bilchar Dobani (6134 m), alongside giants like Malubiting, Laila, and Haramosh. Despite its beauty, this route remains largely untouched, offering easy trails, road access, and extraordinary panoramas. Diran Base Camp Trek – A Hidden Gem of the Karakoram

Day 1 – Islamabad to Gilgit

Fly or drive from Islamabad to Gilgit. Evening briefing on trek details, gear check, and acclimatization. Overnight in Gilgit.

Day 2 – Gilgit to Bagrot Valley

Drive \~15 km downstream from Gilgit to Bagrot Valley, the starting point of the trek. Explore the lower valley and acclimatize. Overnight camping in Bagrot Valley.

Day 3 – Trek to Sinakkar

Trek through Bagrot Valley towards Sinakkar. Witness the transformation of the landscape from barren lower valley to cultivated and settled areas. Overnight camping in Sinakkar.

Day 4 – Trek to Base of Diran Glacier

Continue trekking along alpine trails and glacial moraines towards the Diran Glacier base. Enjoy panoramic views of Rakaposhi (7788 m) and Diran (7266 m) peaks. Overnight camping near the glacier.

Day 5 – Trek to Diran Base Camp

Trek to Diran Base Camp, surrounded by towering peaks and glaciers. Marvel at Bilchar Dobani (6134 m) and peaks like Phuparash (6785 m), Malubiting (7458 m), Laila (6986 m), and Haramosh (7409 m). Overnight at Base Camp.

Day 6 – Exploration and Photography

Short treks around Base Camp for photography and exploration of surrounding glaciers. Enjoy the serenity and grandeur of this hidden gem. Overnight at Base Camp.

Day 7 – Return Trek to Sinakkar

Retrace steps from Base Camp to Sinakkar. Overnight camping in Sinakkar.

Day 8 – Trek to Bagrot Valley

Continue descent to Bagrot Valley. Overnight camping or stay in a local guesthouse.

Day 9 – Bagrot Valley to Gilgit

Drive back to Gilgit. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 10 – Gilgit to Islamabad

Fly or drive back to Islamabad; the trek concludes.
