Day 01

Islamabad – Besham – Chilas

Depart early in the morning from Islamabad and drive to Besham via Haripur, Abbottabad, and Mansehra. After a short break at Besham, continue the drive on the Karakoram Highway along River Indus. Make photo stops at Shatial Rocks with ancient graffiti. Arrive in Chilas and transfer to a hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 02

Chilas – Karimabad (Hunza Valley)

Continue the journey towards Hunza and make sightseeing stops at Nanga Parbat Viewpoint and the confluence of three mountain ranges (Karakoram, Himalaya, and Hindukush). Reach Gilgit and bypass the city to follow the Hunza River. Have a lunch stopover at Rakaposhi viewpoint and then continue to Karimabad, the capital of Hunza Valley. Check into a hotel in Karimabad and stay there for the night.

Day 03

Karimabad – Khunjerab Pass

Embark on an excursion to the Sino-Pak border at Khunjerab, passing through the villages of Gulmit, Passu, and Sost en route. Khunjerab is the highest point on the Karakoram Highway at 4734 meters, and it is considered the highest trade route in the world. Return to Karimabad in the evening and stay there for the night.

Day 04

Karimabad – Minapin – Hapakun – Rakaposhi Base Camp

After an early breakfast, depart for Minapin, the starting point for Rakaposhi and Diran base camps. Start trekking from Minapin and walk for 3-4 hours to reach the small campsite of Hapakun. Take a brief stop and then continue the trek towards Rakaposhi Base Camp. Walk for another 3-4 hours to reach the flower-filled meadows of Tagaferi (Base Camp) with superb views of Rakaposhi. Camp at the base camp for the night.

Day 05

Day Free at Rakaposhi Base Camp – Optional Excursion of Kacheili

Today is a free day at leisure to enjoy the beauty of Rakaposhi and the surrounding peaks. Optionally, you can take a hike to Kacheili across the glacier for an exciting adventure. Stay at the base camp for the night.

Day 06

Rakaposhi Base Camp – Minapin – Gilgit

After an early breakfast, trek back to Minapin and then drive to Gilgit. Transfer to a hotel on arrival in Gilgit and stay there for the night.

Day 07

Gilgit – Chilas – Besham

Start the return journey on the Karakoram Highway to Chilas. Make photo stops at Chilas and Shatial Rocks. Continue driving to Besham for an overnight stay.

Day 08

Besham – Islamabad

Resume the journey towards Islamabad, passing through Mansehra, Abbottabad, and Havelian. Arrive in Islamabad at the designated drop-off place, completing the Rakaposhi Base Camp trek.
