Hushe Base Camp Trek

Best from June to September, the journey begins in Islamabad and continues via the legendary Karakoram Highway with an overnight in Chilas before reaching Skardu. From here, a thrilling 140km jeep ride leads to Hushe, gateway to iconic treks. The trail winds past shepherd camps, river confluences, and wooden bridges to Shaieshcho, then on to Dalzampa—“field of flowers”—with twin lakes mirroring Masherbrum’s glacier. Offering serenity, striking scenery, and cultural encounters, this trek is an unforgettable blend of nature and adventure.

Gondogoro Basecamp Trek – A Journey into the Karakoram

Day 1 – Islamabad to Skardu

Fly from Islamabad to Skardu; transfer to hotel. Evening briefing on trek details, gear check, and acclimatization. Overnight in Skardu.

Day 2 – Skardu to Hushe

Drive \~140 km to Hushe village via Shigar Valley, the gateway to Gondogoro Basecamp treks. Brief orientation and overnight in Hushe.

Day 3 – Trek to Shaieshcho

Start trekking from Hushe along Gondogoro and Charakusa Rivers. Cross a wooden bridge and reach Shaieshcho (\~3800–4000m), a shepherd settlement with a small mosque. Overnight camping.

Day 4 – Trek to Dalzampa

Continue trekking to Dalzampa (\~4150m), known as the “field of flowers.” Enjoy views of two serene lakes and Masherbrum Mountain with cascading glaciers. Overnight camping.

Day 5 – Trek to Gondogoro Basecamp

Trek through alpine meadows, moraines, and rugged terrain to reach Gondogoro Basecamp (\~5000m). Panoramic views of Masherbrum, K6, K7, and surrounding peaks. Overnight camping.

Day 6 – Gondogoro La Pass Crossing

Early morning crossing of **Gondogoro La Pass (5680 m) – a challenging yet rewarding ascent. Descend towards Concordia, enjoying spectacular views of K2, Broad Peak, and Gasherbrum peaks. Overnight camping at Concordia (~4690 m).

Day 7 – Explore Concordia

Short treks to nearby vantage points for photography and soaking in the grandeur of K2 Basecamp views. Overnight camping at Concordia.

Day 8–12 – Return Trek to Hushe

Retrace steps through Dalzampa, Shaieshcho, and Hushe. Overnight camping en route.

Day 13 – Hushe to Skardu

Drive back to Skardu. Evening rest and celebration. Overnight in hotel.

Day 14 – Skardu to Islamabad

Flight or drive back to Islamabad; trek concludes.
